Health Care Providers
The medical staff of the Emma Goldman Clinic includes a combination of lay health care workers, nurse practitioners, and medical doctors. The Clinic is operated by a group of women with a variety of educational and work experiences, who receive extensive training when they join the staff. In addition to her skills, each worker holds both a pro-choice and clients rights philosophy.
Management
The Clinic was founded as a collective in 1973 and for 22 years was managed cooperatively by the women on staff. In 1995, the Clinic transitioned to a more traditional organizational model. The managing structure now includes a 12-15 member external Board of Directors, an Executive Director, and staff. The Executive Director and three Department Directors function cooperatively as the Management Team. |
