NEW/NEWSWORTHY?
All Johnson County Reads the Same Book
Oct 23 in the Solon Library Meeting Room 7:00
PM.
This county-wide reading project sponsored by the University of Iowa
Center for Human Rights and a variety of community and university groups
is open to anyone interested in broadening their understanding of human
rights by reading Cambodian writer Luong Ung's "First They Killed
My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers."
Library Display Case Exhibits
September - this month features "winners" on both
the county and State Fair level.
October - The Weaver's Guild of Iowa City will display their
work.
November - The library would like to feature a teddy bear display
to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the teddy bear. If you have a
favorite bear or teddy bear story that you would like to share, please
bring it to the library during the last week of October.

Special Collections
- Dinosaurs
Twenty wooden dinosaurs were originally made in 1994 for use by the
students at the Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School in Vinton.
There are now more than 100 dinosaurs available for check out by area
libraries and schools.
Books, videotapes and audiotapes on organic farming philosophy and
practice; the organic transition; soil building; biotechnology; various
crops and related information.
