WHAT'S NEW/NEWSWORTHY?

All Johnson County Reads the Same Book
Oct 23 in the Solon Library Meeting Room 7:00 PM.
This county-wide reading project sponsored by the University of Iowa Center for Human Rights and a variety of community and university groups is open to anyone interested in broadening their understanding of human rights by reading Cambodian writer Luong Ung's "First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers."

Library Display Case Exhibits
September - this month features "winners" on both the county and State Fair level.
October - The Weaver's Guild of Iowa City will display their work.
November - The library would like to feature a teddy bear display to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the teddy bear. If you have a favorite bear or teddy bear story that you would like to share, please bring it to the library during the last week of October.

Special Collections

  • Dinosaurs
    Twenty wooden dinosaurs were originally made in 1994 for use by the students at the Iowa Braille & Sight Saving School in Vinton. There are now more than 100 dinosaurs available for check out by area libraries and schools.
