Research Topics Why at the
turn of the century was the byword in Washington,
DC - "If you want something, Go ask Iowa"? Were
there dinosaurs here? How was this state formed and
how old are the rocks that are part of our
homeland? These and
many other questions can be investigated by you in
this Iowa Investigative Report project. Many of us
grow up, go to school, graduate and yet know very
little about the place we call home.
This project
gives you the opportunity to choose a topic and
delve a little more deeply into one aspect of your
state's past. It will provide you resources from
the internet and print works that will aid you in
uncovering more about the place you live. The
various topics that have been provided for you are
listed in the side bar to the left. Click on those
to begin your Investigative Report. If you want to
go off on your own idea in a true investigative
report - develop your idea and clear it with your
